Kathryn Carver is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  Prior to attending law school, Kathryn’s career was in the land title insurance business.  In 1974, Kathryn accepted the position of Manager of Tuscaloosa Title Company, Inc.  In 1978, she founded Title Insurance Company of Chattanooga (TN) and served as the company’s President until 1981.

 

Upon graduation from law school, Kathryn joined the law firm of Lange, Simpson, Robinson and Somerville (now Adams and Reese) in Birmingham, AL.  Kathryn served as Lange Simpson’s principal real estate attorney and was made a partner in the firm in 1992.  In 1998, Kathryn opened her own law firm, specializing in commercial real estate and title insurance.  In 2004, Kathryn accepted a position as in-house counsel for the developer of a 4,000- acre planned unit development in Vestavia Hills, AL, and its affiliates.  These include a privately-owned sanitary sewer service provider, two home building companies, a residential real estate brokerage and sales operation, a title insurance agency, and four property owners’ associations.

After dividing her time between Birmingham and Dauphin Island for over 15 years, Kathryn opened her law firm on the Island in 2015 and continues to represent clients on the Island and in other areas of Alabama.
